Canvas Transfers

How long does it take for a canvas transfer to be shipped?
Canvas transfers usually leave our warehouse within two weeks of the date ordered. Shipping time from our warehouse to you depends on your location and the requested shipping method. Canvas transfers are shipped UPS or FedEx Ground service unless otherwise requested.

How does the pricing for canvas transfers work?
So that you can send your customers to browse our site, dealer pricing information for canvas is made available from our customer service group or in response to an e-mail inquiry bearing your Lieberman’s account number.

Can any print be canvas transferred?
While most of our prints may be transferred to canvas, certain artists and/or publishers do not allow their prints to be transferred. Please call our customer service group to confirm that a particular print is approved for canvas transfer.

Can a canvas transfer be returned for credit or exchange?
Canvas transfers are all special orders, and cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged or defective in some way. Claims for damaged or defective canvas product must be made within 10 business days.

Do Lieberman’s canvas transfers have UV protection?
All our canvas transfers have a protective UV coating. Nevertheless, hanging any artwork in direct sunlight is not recommended.

What size stretcher bars are used for canvas transfers?
We offer bars of 11/16 inch and 1½ inch depths. All of our stretcher bars are 1½ inches wide.

Photographs and Canvas Transfer
Some photographs may not be transferable to canvas using our process because of the type of paper used. If the photograph is printed on heavy photo paper with a heavy plastic coating we may not be able to transfer it without damaging it. If the photograph is a unique one and cannot be reproduced we recommend you do not attempt to transfer it. When we receive your photographs we will examine them and determine if they can be transferred without being damaged. If we believe the risk of damage is too great we will notify you and return the photos to you.

Canvas Transfer and Plaque Damage Liability
Lieberman's maximum liability for posters and prints damaged in processing is $100 retail. This means that Lieberman's will process your orders for canvas transfer and plaques for any print priced at a retail value above $100, but we will not accept, under any circumstances, liability for any amount over $100 retail which means Lieberman's will only credit you the wholesale price of $50. This applies to photographs as well. If we damage a photograph during processing we will pay for the reproduction of the photograph up to a maximum of $50 upon presentation of an invoice from a professional photo developing service.

Lieberman's liability does not extend to indirect or consequential damages such as loss of earnings for any of it's services. Our liability extends only to the wholesale replacement value of posters and or prints subject to the limitations stated above.

Publishers' Print or Poster Catalogs

How much do print or poster catalogs cost?
Catalog prices vary depending on the publisher. Lieberman’s always sells catalogs for the same price you’d pay going direct to the publisher.

If I order my catalog through Lieberman’s, will I receive all of the publisher’s supplements?
We place your catalog orders with the publishers and provide them with your address to ensure you receive any future mailings from them. Please remember that most publishers will only furnish you with supplements if you have purchased their most recent catalog.

How am I billed for catalogs?
Your catalog invoice is mailed from Lieberman’s after we receive confirmation that the catalog has been shipped. You can then, as usual, pay by check or credit card. If you have a COD account with us, your catalog will not be shipped COD from the publisher – Lieberman’s will invoice you. If payment of the catalog invoice has not been received before your next COD print order ships, we will add the catalog amount to your print order COD tag.

How long does it take for catalogs to arrive?
You should receive your catalog 1-2 weeks after the order is placed. If you order more than one catalog, they will ship to you separately from each publisher, so delivery time to you will vary depending on the publisher’s location. May I return a catalog if it’s not what I expected? Catalogs may be returned to Lieberman’s within 30 days for a full refund of the catalog price.

Becoming a Lieberman's Vendor

How do I become a vendor distributed by Lieberman’s?
We are always looking for new vendors and welcome inquiries from art publishers or sources of other wall décor products. We are not a publisher, so we do not work directly with unpublished artists. Please send an e-mail inquiry to start the decision process.

Ordering Prints and Posters

How long does it take for my print or poster order to ship?
We usually buy to fill your order. Most print orders ship the second, third, or fourth business day after the order is placed. The shipping time to you then depends on your location and the shipping method used.

Does Lieberman’s ship print orders rolled or flat?
All print orders are shipped rolled, in heavy-duty tubes.

What is the freight charge for print orders?
The shipping and handling for most print orders is $9-$11 for UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail shipping. Next Day Air, Second Day Air and Three Day Ground Service is also available for an additional charge.

What shipper does Lieberman’s use?
All print orders for delivery to commercial accounts are shipped via UPS Ground unless otherwise specified by you. Orders drop-shipped directly to consumers are generally shipped via USPS Priority Mail, unless otherwise specified by you.

How will I know if an item I order is unavailable?
A small but significant percentage of items ordered may be unavailable either because the publisher is temporarily out of stock or because the item has been discoutinued. If an item you ordered is unavailable at present, we will notify you as soon as the publisher informs us – normally within 24-36 hours – by phone, fax or e-mail, depending on which method you request when we set up your account. You may change your notification method at any time by e-mailing or calling our customer service department.

What do I do if I have received a wrong, damaged or defective print?
If we ship you a damaged or incorrect item, please call our customer service department. We will remedy the problem as quickly as possible, with no additional charge to you. All claims of damaged or wrong prints received must be made within 30 days.

May I return a print that I ordered but no longer want?
Prints you no longer want or need may be returned. You are responsible for shipping cost on these returns, and a 20% restocking fee will be charged to your account. However, no credit will be given for returns which are not in resalable condition.

May I add to an order I have already placed?
Yes, you may add to an existing order. Please remember that if you add to an order placed on a previous day, there may be a delay in shipping while we wait to receive the additional prints.

May I cancel an order before it ships?
You may cancel orders until they leave our warehouse. If we have already ordered the print from the publisher, a 20% restocking fee will be charged to your account. If we have not yet ordered your print when you cancel, no restocking fee will be charged.

Definitions of Higher-priced Print Media

What is a Giclee?
A giclee is a high-quality reproduction made with newer “sprayed ink” printing technologies. Papers are usually of superior weight and texture; sprayed inks and pigments result in a warm, vivid, more painterly quality. Some giclees are printed on canvas.

What is a Serigraph?
A serigraph, often called a silkscreen, is made using a stencil process in which an image or design is superimposed on a very fine mesh screen and printing ink is squeegeed onto the printing surface through the area of the screen that is not covered by the stencil.

What is a Tapestry?
Our tapestries are decorative wall hanging woven from cotton, chenille, and wool. They are normally suspended from a hanging rod passed through a stitched sleeve at the top.

What does Hand-Colored mean?
Hand-colored prints use the reproduction process of earlier centuries, before the advent of color printing. Their unique look is achieved by manual application of fine watercoloring to a black-and-white engraving-like print by trained artisans (not the original artist). Nowadays this method is used in high-fashion contemporary design looks as well as for classic antique effects.

What is a Rare Poster?
Rare posters are usually associated with a particular gallery exhibition or historical event. Some originate as limited editions; others are more like rare first editions of a book: part of an original press run which was discontinued, and hence collectible.
